Elsie Nipper Profile & Artworks

Elsie Nipper is a Anangu, an Aboriginal person from the Central Desert of Australia. She has grown up in Mutitjulu Community in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. She attended the local independent high school, Nyangatjatjara College and travelled throughout her ancestral country in her bush education learning from her grandmothers, aunts and mothers on hunting and family trips. She started painting canvases with Maruku Arts in 2005 and also works with Walkatjara Art, Uluru. Her grandparents were prominent in the fight for land rights at Uluru and she continues their work protecting and looking after her traditional land.
