Myra Giles Profile & Artworks

Myra Giles is minyma Yarnangu, an Aboriginal woman from the Western Desert area of Australia. She is a regular visitor to Mutitjulu Community where her son and daughters live and is photographed here with her grandson. Myra comes from a long line of wood carvers and her knowledge has been passed on through the Tjukurpa, the Law and way of life governing her country. She began painting for Maruku Arts in May 2006.
